"Welcome to your tape" is a one-liner meme that's recently taken over Twitter.
The meme is a reference to Netflix's series 13 Reasons Why, which tells the story of Hannah Baker, a high school girl who committed suicide and left behind 13 cassette tapes naming the people she felt were responsible for her premature demise.
"If you're listening to this tape, you were one of the reasons why," Hannah explains on the first tape. "I'm not saying which tape brings you into the story, but fear not, if you received this lovely little box, your name will pop up. I promise."
Suicide isn't a joke, so a lot of people have mixed feelings about the now-viral meme.
