'A Daughters Secret' The Murder of Dee Dee Blanchard

Many parents promise to give their life for their children. Being the parent of a sick child is taxing both mentally and physically and when you're doing it alone, it's even more. An inspiration, a single mother dedicated her life to her daughter.

To the people of Springfield, Missouri, Dee Dee Blanchard was a hero. She dedicated her life to caring for her chronically ill daughter, Gypsy, who suffered from chromosomal defects, muscular dystrophy, eye problems, epilepsy, severe asthma, sleep apnea, and brain damage, among other ailments. She'd even had leukemia as a child. The improbably frail Gypsy used a wheelchair to get around and often needed a feeding tube and an oxygen tank.
